2202: That's all from me, but as I say keep your eyes here over the next seven days to see who will take Nikolay Davydenko's crown and enjoy.
2153: Federer picks up the ATP's Fans' Favourite award for 2010 after his win. I know that the tennis fans often divided between his camp and that of a certain Spaniard, and it seems that the Fed fans have marshalled themselves better for this one.
2149: Here's one to look forward to. Federer will play Andy Murray on Tuesday afternoon, that will be available for UK web users on this website and live on BBC Two. Fingers crossed for a slow day at work for us all.
Federer 6-1 6-4 Ferrer Not so simple it seems for the Swiss though. Ferrer gets a flick off the net cord to win the first point and then takes the second. A second-serve ace pulls Federer back to 15-30, but Ferrer finds another winner to earn two break points. The first worms its way into the net and an ace from Federer pulls it back to deuce. Ferrer vents some frustration on the frame of the racket and that may be his chance gone. Federer misses cross-court through and HawkEye confirms it. Another break point for Ferrer. But Federer faces it down before an ace nestles in the apex of Ferrer's service box and it is all over.
*Federer 6-1 5-4 Ferrer Ferrer holds onto his serve, but you sense that Federer is keeping something in reserve as he prepares to serve for the match.
Federer 6-1 5-3 Ferrer* Ferrer spins a forehand onto a postage stamp at the front of the court to make it 40-15, he wins the next one and then sees a net cord drop his way to make it deuce. His luck does not extend any further though as Federer packs him off in two quick points.
*Federer 6-1 4-3 Ferrer More good stuff from Ferrer as he drives on to 40-15, Federer takes a point back but it, he closes out as Federer hits a return long. Ferrer has to break though if this is going into a decider and that is a trickier matter.
Federer 6-1 4-2 Ferrer* Federer can't get one back from around his shins at 30-30, and then puts a touch too much heat on one to allow Ferrer to take it to deuce. Feder still has not quite got his radar all lined up as a backhand clears the baseline and then a drop-shot is a little too clever and ends in the net. Two game points slip away and Ferrer then makes his move gobbling up a mid-court ball to give himself break point. Federer sees off the danger with a powerful forehand backing up a big serve. But he is a point away from losing this one as Ferrer whips a high forehand past him. An error lets Federer off the hook and an ace gives him his own game-point. Ferrer clips a lob over the top to save it, but is finally out-gunned as Federer goes out wide on his serve to seal the game. A bit of raw canine scrap there from Ferrer though, may be some hope for him yet.
*Federer 6-1 3-2 FerrerFerrer is determined to go down all guns blazing if he is to be beaten here. He smacks a clean winner, but Federer is just too good. He latches onto a short forehand in the blink of an eye and Ferrer sprays wide to hand him what may be a decisive break.
Federer 6-1 2-2 Ferrer*Federer's serve is still flowing as smooth as honey though, and he holds to love there. Time for Ferrer to see if he can find some of that consistency.
*Federer 6-1 1-2 FerrerFederer duffs one off the frame to make it 40-30, but atones by flipping a lovely backhand down the line and squeezing a forehand volley into the tightest of angles at the net. Ferrer opens up on the forehand though to seal two successive point - the first sending Federer so wide he almost takes a seat in the front row and the fizzing past Federer at a rate of knots. Buoyed by those, he wraps up the game and is still in this set.
Federer 6-1 1-1 Ferrer*Federer drags Ferrer all over the court, briefly hands him a chance with a double-fault to make it 40-30, but snuffs it out immediately. More on that ATP schedule re-jig right
here by the way.
*Federer 6-1 0-1 FerrerA fine slice backhand from Federer grips this slower surface to take the game to 15-15. A double-fault from Ferrer allows Federer back to 30-30, but he fares better with a deep forehand that Federer not dig out and it is 40-30. A charge to the net comes to a sticky end for Ferrer as Federer sends a pass dipping past his opponent. But Ferrer's doggedness eventually pays off as Federer miscues a forehand to surrender the game. Second celebrity spotted in the not-so-cheap seats is snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan. Cheers.
Federer 6-1 Ferrer*Federer produces the first ace after 32 minutes of play to pull back to 30-30. He takes the next and has one set point. Federer catches a thick net cord, it loops up to about head height, Ferrer chases it down but he nets and the players take a seat with Federer pocketing the first set.
*Federer 5-1 FerrerFerrer will be hoping to compound that break back now, but the first point squirms away from him and a Federer backhand drop-shot taps down twice to make it 0-30. A backhand pass reduces the deficit, but he pushes beyond the baseline and Federer has two break-points of his own. A searing forehand from Ferrer saves the second and a serve into the body takes him to advantage. A double-fault sees that opportunity slip by. But Federer plants one between the tramlines to hand him another. Again it gets away as he floats one wide. But this aggression is giving Federer something to thing about. He flops a running forehand into the net, yet again Ferrer does not have that killer instinct. His 14th unforced error is followed by a double-fault and Federer has broken again. He serves for the match next.
Federer 4-1 Ferrer*Ferrer hauls his way back to deuce after falling 40-0 down as Federer loops one long under no apparent pressure. Can he make Federer pay for that wastefulness? It looks good as he runs down a drop-shot before slamming a smash hard into the floor for his first break point. And he converts it as Federer fails to scrape a skimming return off the surface.
2030: We've just published
Andy Murray's latest column talking about this afternoon's win.
He says: "Coming on court at the O2 is more like the start of a concert than a tennis match and it was so loud, but I was able to focus, which I needed to do because Robin's ranked higher than me and a great player.
"The game plan worked, but I've got Roger Federer or David Ferrer next so I know it will be another tough one."
*Federer 4-0 FerrerThe grunts are getting louder from Ferrer and he is really hunting the lines. It pays off as he smacks one clean past Federer to pull to 15-15, but not enough of them are as good and Federer has a second break as Ferrer plants in the net.
Federer 3-0 Ferrer*Federer hooks a hurried forehand to give Ferrer a sniff at 30-30, it looks like the chance may have gone for the Ferrer and he floats one long. The Spaniard ups the aggression to force his way to deuce, but Federer counters and is now three games clear.
* denotes NEXT to serve *Federer 2-0 FerrerFerrer opens up his body to hit a forehand across court and move 40-30 up, but comes up against some sublime play at the net from Federer in the next rally. The Swiss has him scampering up, down, back and forth before finally clinching the point. Federer duly breaks with an almost casual backhand up the line. Ominous stuff.
* denotes NEXT to serve Federer 1-0 Ferrer*Federer opens in business-like fashion. He gathers up the first two points, his unrelenting rhythm picks up the third and an ace claims the fourth. A sighting of Diego Maradona in the crowd is perhaps more interesting. The Argentina football legend was watching Fulham v Manchester City earlier this afternoon and has hot-footed it across the capital to catch a bit more sport.
* denotes NEXT to serve 2010: Federer has got a red shirt on, complete with his trademark monogram discreetly on the sleeve, and matching wristband and sweatband. Some thought has gone into that as ever.
2004: That thudding pulse that precedes the players' appearance on court is going to get awfully familiar over the next eight days. Federer, perhaps inevitably, wins the decibel count as the players are greeted by the crowd. The umpires briefs the players, Federer wins the toss and will serve first.
BBC Sport's Piers Newbery on Twitter: "Just spoken to a very relaxed @andy_murray who says the new seven-week off-season is "great - I'm hoping it will make a difference".
Murray was talking about the ATP's decision to slim down the end-of-season schedule, reducing the calendar by two weeks from 2012. More on that on this website very soon. 1959: Who do you fancy to emerge from this little Group B quartet then? Is it already all over for Soderling? Will it be 11th time lucky for Ferrer? Some many questions, you have the answers. Pass them on via text on

606. 1955: Andy Murray's
speedy dispatch of Robin Soderling has set the pace in Group B of the World Tour Finals. Can world number two Roger Federer match it? Since being beaten
by Murray in Shanghai in October he built a little momentum by picking up titles in Stockholm and Basle. He then fell victim to Gael Monfils in the semi-finals of the Paris Masters, but the Swiss has form in this event. In its previous incarnation as the Tennis Masters Cup, Federer reached five successive finals, winning four of them, between 2003 and 2007. Ferrer has won only three sets in 10 previous meetings with the world number two. Unfortunately for the Spaniard they all came in different matches.
