Highlights - Querrey takes Queen's title

Sam Querrey beat Mardy Fish 7-6 7-5 to win the Aegon Championships on Sunday.

The 6ft 6in Querrey, 22, had to save three break points in his first service game but soon found his range and took the first set 7-3 in the tie-break.

In the second set, Fish had an early break and served for the set at 5-4 but Querrey broke back to level matters.

Two games later, Fish found himself serving to stay alive and although he saved one match point, Querrey duly secured his third title of the year.

Fish, 29, had beaten Andy Murray on his run to the final but the big-serving Querrey was always going to be a handful on grass and so it proved in west London.

The two Americans are good friends off the court and share the same coach so they know each other's game inside out.

They had also agreed that the loser would buy dinner and in the end it was Querrey's weight of shot and calmness under pressure which ensured Fish would be the man settling the bill later on.

Fish served well from the start of the match but the same was not the case for Querry, who struggled through his opening service game as he began very slowly.

He found himself at 0-40 but hammered down two aces to make it 30-40 and after forcing deuce a third ace helped him to hold serve.

However, he became more consistent as the set wore on and the game settled into a typical grass-court pattern, with both players holding serve with a fair degree of comfort, until the tie-break loomed.

Querry then failed to challenge a double fault when Hawk-eye showed the ball was in and was taken to deuce, but nevertheless took the game to set up the tie-break.

A Fish slip - not for the last time as he was forced back onto the lush grass at the back of the court by Querrey's power - helped the younger man into a 2-0 lead.

A Querrey double fault - his fourth - helped Fish level at 3-3 but some solid ground stokes earned Querrey a set point and the latest in a series of big serves gave him the opening set.

The giant American opened the second set with a 32-second game consisting of four aces but Fish kept fighting and forced two break points at 2-2.

Querrey out-lasted Fish in a long rally to save the first but on the second he lost patience after another long exchange and over-hit a forehand down the line to give Fish his first break of the match.

The set went with serve until Fish served for the match at 5-4 but after looking unruffled until this point he suddenly began to tense up.

A couple of poor shots gave Querrey the chance to break back and after holding serve he promptly broke the increasingly wayward Fish once more to secure the title.
