Anyway, pipe down Cheesy, next up for Murray is Juan Ignacio Chela on Wednesday. Chela another clay-court lover but past his best and Murray beat him in Madrid a couple of weeks back.

1846: A generous French crowd rise to applaud Andy Murray's effort. There's a lot of sympathy around for Richard Gasquet, who asked for this match to be put back to tomorrow but had his request turned down by his fellow Frenchmen at Roland Garros. I do have some sympathy for him, but at the end of the day, he managed to get himself into a winning position against Murray, leading by two sets and a break, but at the first sign of a setback, the belief seemed to drain out of him as quickly as his energy. You know, mind over matter and all that.

Murray earns a break point, but Gasquet shuts the door with a wrongfooting backhand, but now a tired forehand into the net. Another break point but a big serve gets him out of trouble. Murray gets to deuce but no further, and Gasquet finishes the game with another stunning backhand.

There isn't a lot Murray can do here - but a few more first serves would definitely be handy. Murray does brilliantly to get a forehand return back, and the shock is too much for Gasquet, who belts his own forehand miles long. As you were. Murray now chases a short ball and fire it straight at Gasquet - and do the French crowd not like that. It's 5-5. Gasquet paints the sideline with a forehand, and Murray goes inches long in reply. Set point for Gasquet and he hits the opposite sideline with a second serve. Murray punts it back, but Gasquet's approach shot proves too hot to handle and a backhand into the net leaves Murray needing to win three sets to keep his French Open campaign alive.

Solid point from Murray behind his serve and they switch over all square.

Big forehand to take control of the point and Murray then plucks a high volley out of the air, forcing Gasquet to go long. Relief for the Brit, and he does brilliantly to come through, weathering a significant storm. Tie-break time. Unbelievably tense now.

Bit strange: at 40-30, Murray drop-shots and it doesn't look that great, but Gasquet just turns around and collects another ball to serve with. With it, he delivers an ace before closing out. He does well to shrug off that moment of pure magic from Gasquet. He delivers an ace to get back to game point and comes through.

He rocks backwards and hammers it onto the baseline. Murray is almost laughing, it's that's good. Gasquet goes on to hold with another couple of sizzling winners. Could be an important game.

The Frenchman won a gruelling final against Fernando Verdasco in Nice on Saturday, during which he received treatment for a groin injury. He's also got a knee problem apparently. 1421: Elena Baltacha breaks a horror run of 13 points against as she battles from 40-0 down to deuce on her own serve - but Agnieszka Radwanska closes out the double break and leads 4-0.

1416: On Suzanne Lenglen, third seed and former semi-finalist Novak Djokovic beats Evgeny Korolev 6-1 3-6 6-1 6-3 and after a short break, Andy Murray and Richard Gasquet will be making their way over there to replace them.

1411: Agnieszka Radwanska opens up a 3-0 lead against Elena Baltacha. Jonathan Overend, on BBC 5 live Sports Extra, describes this as a "shaky start" by the British number one. 1325: Another break of serve for the Fed. Aussie Luczak, who came through the US college system, has battled hard out there today. But you never really expected him to trouble the great Swiss, did you? Fed's now serving for the match.

1322: Last I looked, Novak was cruising against Kazakhstan's Korolev on Suz Lenglen. But he's just dropped the second set... which means Murray fans will have to wait a little longer to see their man.

1252: Fed wins the second set to lead 6-4 6-1 and it's looking like a walk in the sunshine for the world number one now. I think that last text may have been for the TV team, who are clearly much cleverer than I, but I thought it was a good question. I'm going to say Marat Safin and John McEnroe. But I am massively biased, because they're two of my favourite players of all time.

If the Serb continues to dominate, we should be on for that 1400 BST start in Murray-Gasquet, maybe even a touch earlier.

Gone in as long as it takes for Fed to bang down a big first serve. I don't want this to sound patronising, although I fear it will, but this is a great effort from Lucky. Over on Lenglen, Novak Djokovic is making short work of Evgeny Korolev, leading 5-1. Murray-Gasquet follows that match.

1229: In answer to that last text, I don't think Robbo will be gracing Roland Garros this year. She's not playing junior tournaments any more, and isn't quite good enough for the main draw yet. It won't be long though...

1221: A shorter ball allows Fed to make space for a huge forehand down the line. Set point. Luczak's first serve looks wide, so Fed nonchalantly dinks it back, with Luczak putting the volley away. Bit of controversy now, because the umpire, who has already called the score, refuses to look at the mark which Fed is querying. Fed argues for a while in French, before eventually realising he's not getting anywhere. That bit of drama seems to affect Lucky more than Fed though. The Aussie makes an error then double faults, and Fed takes the first set 6-4.

1216: Luczak catches Fed unawares with a cheeky drop shot. The world number one is caught on the back foot and can only dolly the ball back over for Lucky to put away. That gives him a game point to make it 5-5, but a trademark sweeping crosscourt forehand from Fed makes it deuce. Big serve down the 'T' gives Luckzak another game point, but now a forehand error brings us back to deuce. Tense times.

1208: Great point from Peter Luczak. Big serve followed by a lovely angled forehand, which draws the short ball to put away. The Aussie is still on serve against Roger Federer. It's 4-4. Good stuff.

The wacky Russian, famous for his 'offbeat' blogs for the ATP website, has been out for ages with an ankle injury but he made his long-awaited return today, losing 6-1 6-1 6-1 to Spain's Daniel Gimeno-Traver. Fellow goofball, rap superstar Vince Spadea, appears to have retired - but I am petitioning Wimbledon for a wildcard for him. Let you know how that goes.

1157: Well, no surprise that Roger Federer has held all three service games so far - and indeed, hasn't dropped a point on serve yet - but Peter Luczak is doing OK on his own serve so far. Doesn't look too overawed. Fed leads 3-2 in the first set.

1150: Eleventh seed Li Na comes through a difficult match against French wildcard and rising star Kristina Mladenovic, 7-5 6-3. One of two Stephanies: Dubois or Cohen-Aloro. The end of the match will bring Novak Djokovic and Evgeny Korolev on to Lenglen court. After that, it's Murray-Gasquet, which is probably looking more like a 1400 BST start I would think.

1147: Federer opens with an effortless service game before immediately earning a break point, but Luczak does well to hold off the world number one there to level up at 1-1.

1137: As Sam Smith on the Red Button has just observed, Luczak hasn't had a lot of luck in Grand Slams this year. He drew Rafa Nadal at the Australian Open and lost 7-6 6-1 6-4. Second Slam of the year, he gets Roger Federer. And his nickname's Lucky... you figure it out.

1103: Some news: France's Gael Monfils was due to play Germany's Florian Mayer in the last match on Chatrier today - but Mayer has pulled out at the last minute. Thankfully, French Open organisers have had a little look in the men's locker room and found Dieter Kindlmann hanging around, so he'll replace his fellow German against the Sliderman.

Last year's quarter-finalist was dumped out by Gisela Dulko and was so furious, she refused to speak to the press afterwards, earning her a $4,000 fine. Stroppy.

1031: Aussie Jelena Dokic is making her latest comeback over on Court 6. Playing her first match since March because of an arm injury, she is 5-2 down against Lucie Safarova. Clay isn't Dokic's bag really, I'd imagine she's just looking for some match practice ahead of the grass. Meanwhile, there's a bagel on the way on Chatrier...

1021: Right, if your red, white and blue bunting is out ready for Andy Murray and Elena Baltacha later, here's the vital info: Murray plays Richard Gasquet in the third match on Lenglen. Our best guess is that will be not before 1300 BST. That match will be live on the Red Button, 5 live Sports Extra and online (UK only). Bally's match against eighth seed Agnieszka Radwanska is also third on, on Court 3. That's probably going to be about the same time - and we'll keep you very much updated with her progress here.

Admittedly, I haven't seen a lot of Kudryavtseva in action of late, but I do know Wozzy's been having terrible bother from an ankle injury.
