British teenager Laura Robson has reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open women's doubles with her partner Sally Peers. The 16-year-old, who begins her junior campaign on Monday, only entered the event after teaming up with Australian Peers on the eve of the tournament. The duo beat Anastasia Rodionova and Vera Dushevina 6-3 6-3 in the last 16. However, Guernsey's Heather Watson, 17, fell to a surprise first-round defeat in the junior girls event. Watson, who was seeded second after winning the junior title at the US Open last September, lost 6-1 4-6 6-1 to China's Hao Chen Tang. Robson, who turned 16 on Thursday, is unseeded for the junior tournament and takes on Australia's Belinda Woolcock in round one. Her next opponent in the doubles will be either third seeds Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez and Nuria Llagostera Vives or 15th seeds Maria Kirilenko and Agnieszka Radwanska who play on Monday. In the junior boys, Britain's Oliver Golding beat Japan's Yasutaka Uchiyama 6-4 6-4 to move into the second round. But Jack Carpenter was beaten 6-2 6-4 by Brazil's Guilherme Clezar.
