Jamie Murray was Wimbledon mixed doubles champion in 2007

Jamie Murray and American partner Liezel Huber secured a place in the semi-finals of Wimbledon's mixed doubles after receiving a walkover.

They were due to face Lukas Dlouhy and Iveta Benesova in the last eight but the Czech pair withdrew with injury.

Murray and Huber reached the quarter-finals with a hard-fought win over Mike Bryan and Bethanie Mattek-Sands.

Huber needed treatment for heat exhaustion during a 7-6 (9-7) 4-6 6-3 win over the American sixth seeds.

"I thought, any second now, I'm going to fall down but I'm going to hurt myself if I do," she said.

Murray, unlike his younger brother Andy, has been in poor form this year, his doubles ranking dropping from 27 to 75.

"My year's been really disappointing," said the 23-year-old.

"If we do win, it would put a shine on it. I haven't been playing so well the last couple of months."

Murray and Huber could face second seeds Bob Bryan and Sam Stosur in the last four in a repeat of last year's semi-final, which the British-American pairing lost.

But with Andy through to the semi-finals of the singles, the possibility remains that both Murray brothers could be playing in a Wimbledon final on Sunday.

"It would be pretty amazing - probably more so for Andy to be in the singles, a fantastic achievement. He's played great so far," said Jamie.

Huber added: "It would be pretty awesome to have two finalists from one family."
