Shuker is ranked 12 in the world

Lucy Shuker secured a semi-final at the Sydney International Wheelchair Tennis Open after being handed a walkover.

Having beaten Australian Luba Josevski 6-0 6-1 in her opening match, Shuker was given passage to the last four when German Katharina Kruger fell ill.

The fourth seed and world number 12, who reached the last eight at the Austrlian Open, will now take on Dutch world number three Jiske Griffioen.

Shuker, 28, has lost to Griffioen in their seven previous meetings.
