Robson is through to the final of the girls's singles in Melbourne |
"I went on Facebook this morning and they were all asking me, 'What round are you in now?' I'm like, 'Oh, yeah, semis.'" Laura Robson might be big news for British tennis but some of her friends have yet to catch on. "He's my big brother. Still today he is my idol." Safina makes it clear for anyone still unsure that she is a fan of big brother Marat. "I idolised Marat, too. I can totally understand." Serena Williams reveals that Dinara was not alone in her admiration for Marat. "I got my letter from Safin, the birthday card. It just said, 'Happy birthday and all the best.' But it's good enough for me." Even 15-year-old Laura Robson is a member of the Marat fan club. "He's not really the guy who has enough patience for this, you know, to have a woman's talk." And Safina makes the shock revelation that Marat has not always been the most sensitive person in dealing with his younger sister. "Nothing. Is just something that I have with my friend. Is just like hi, you know." Fernando Verdasco explains his now trademark five-finger salute. "He have unbelievable legs. He run unbelievable." And Verdasco has little doubt what makes Rafael Nadal special. "I don't have to work too hard out there. Just hit some big serves. Venus hits some big serves. We put the ball away." Serena reveals the secret to her and Venus' doubles success. "I think when we first started playing, we thought we knew each other so well we didn't have to talk between points. We just figured we're so close that we don't need to do that. I think that's pretty clueless." But Venus reveals it wasn't always so easy.
