 Clayton qualified for the main draw for the second successive year |
Jersey's rising tennis star Scott Clayton was knocked out in the second round of the British Under-14s Championships by his doubles partner. He lost to wildcard Matthew Kirby 6-0 6-4, despite having beaten last year's champion Jathan Malik in straight sets in the opening round of the main draw. After impressing in the singles qualifying event Clayton was asked to partner Kirby in the Under-14s doubles. The boys are due to play in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
