Lindsay Davenport will represent the USA in the Fed Cup for the first time since 2005 as part of her full-time comeback in 2008. Davenport, 31, returned in September after nearly a year out, having given birth to son Jagger in June.
The former Wimbledon, Australian and US Open champion has agreed to play in the tie against Germany on 2-3 February La Jolla, California.
"We are thrilled to have her back," said USA captain Zina Garrison.

Davenport won two titles in three events when she returned in September, ending the year with a 13-1 record.
"I am honoured to represent my country on the US Fed Cup team once again," said Davenport.
"My Fed Cup appearances have given me some of the best memories of my career and I look forward to La Jolla and helping our team advance to the semi-finals."
Davenport has a 31-2 overall record in Fed Cup play and played in five finals, winning three titles.
