Maria Sharapova has been forced to pull out of her next two events with a recurrence of the shoulder injury that has dogged her all year. The Russian will miss the Zurich Open, starting on Monday, and the Generali Ladies in Austria from 22 October.
Sharapova was beaten by Belarus's Victoria Azarenka in her opening match at the Kremlin Cup last week.
It was her first match in almost six weeks following a third-round exit at the US Open.
