Third seed Murray was rarely troubled by Llodra |
Andy Murray moved into the third round of the Moselle Open in Metz with a routine victory over Michael Llodra. The number three eased to a 6-4 6-3 win in one hour and 11 minutes after Murray and Llodra exchanged breaks early in the first set.
Murray struggled with his first serve but dug deep when it mattered most, saving three of four break points before breaking Llodra twice more.
He will now face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France, who beat Phillip Kohlschreiber.
Murray said: "When we were at 4-4, 0-40, he saved two break points with good serves.

"On the third, my forehand passing shot is called out but the umpire changes the decision in my favour and I think he was right.
"Then I had the feeling that Llodra was not into the match any more."
Murray is looking to regain his place in the world's top 10, having seen his ranking slip to 18 because of a long lay-off with a wrist injury.
His quarter-final in Metz will be his first since the Masters Series event in Miami last March.
