Britain is down to one representative in the French Open after Jamie Murray's loss in the doubles competition. Murray and American partner Eric Butorac lost their first-round clash against Czech Tomas Cibulec and Jordan Kerr of Australia 7-6 (10-8) 6-3.
Murray and Butorac have won two ATP Tour events this year but failed to hit top gear at Roland Garros.
Norfolk's James Auckland, partnering Australia's Stephen Huss, has still to play his first round match.
"It was a tough match. We didn't play our best and it did not quite happen, but we will be back," said Murray.
"It is the first time we have played a full season on clay, and I am sure we will be better for it when we play on the hard courts. We will only see the benefits in a couple of months."
Murray and Butorac's tour triumphs, in Memphis and San Jose, came in February on hard courts.
The pair confirmed they plan to play at Surbiton, Queen's and Nottingham before heading to Wimbledon.
Murray was asked about his brother Andy, who injured his wrist in Hamburg two weeks ago and is battling to regain fitness in time for Wimbledon.
"He is just resting," said Jamie. "He doesn't want to come back too soon just in case. That's all I can tell you unfortunately."
