The 20-year-old, the older brother of British number one Andy, was partnered by American Eric Butorac for the win over Rajeev Ram and Bobby Reynolds.

The pair did not drop a set on their way to the final, despite it being only their second tournament together.

The victory takes Murray up to 65th in the doubles world rankings.

"Jamie practised a lot against Eric on grass courts and they became quite good friends, so they teamed up," said Murray's mother Judy.

"This was only their second event together - the first was in Los Angeles last year, when they reached the final and lost to the Bryans.

"So it's a good start for them and it will take Jamie's ranking up to 65, which will be the highest yet."

Murray and Butorac broke their opponents' serve in the third game of the first set and then held to claim the first set 6-4 in Dallas.

Ram and Reynolds hit back in the second set, taking it on a tie-break to set up a first-to-10-points championship tie-break, but Murray and Butorac held their nerve.
