World number one Justine Henin cruised into the semi-finals of the Eastbourne International with a 6-2 6-2 thrashing of Czech fifth seed Nicole Vaidisova. The defending champion had a superb start, winning the first five games to claim the first set in 29 minutes.
Vaidisova was hindered by a host of double faults, and the Belgian title-holder was always in control.
Henin was joined in the final four by Wimbledon champion Amelie Mauresmo who beat Israel's Shahar Peer 6-3 6-4.
Henin will next play French eighth seed Marion Bartoli who thrashed Russian fourth seed Elena Dementieva 6-1 6-0 in 71 minutes.
Bartoli, inspired by another straight-sets defeat of Dementieva in the French Open third round earlier this month, put her opponent under relentless pressure from the start.
Dementieva, a quarter-finalist at Wimbledon last year, never looked comfortable, struggling to get her first serve in and hitting eight double faults.
Mauresmo will face another Russian, third seed Nadia Petrova, who had to fight back from a set down to see off Austrian seventh seed Sybille Bammer 6-7 (6-8) 7-5 6-4.
