Murray couldn't prevent Israel winning Saturday's doubles

Andy Murray and Jamie Delgado lost 6-3 3-6 7-5 3-6 4-6 to Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich after surrendering a 4-1 lead in the final set.

It was the second consecutive rubber in which Murray had gone the distance after beating Ram in Friday's singles.

The Scot now faces Noam Okun on Sunday while Alex Bogdanovic must beat Ram to have any chance of saving the tie.

Murray ricked his neck and strained his shoulder diving to retrieve Israeli winners in the fifth set.

"I'll wake up tomorrow and see how I feel and if necessary have some treatment," said the 19-year-old Scot.

"But if I play I want to win and win comfortably. The neck started getting worse towards the end of the match, and I wasn't feeling too good. But it is not over yet.

"It is a disappointment. We had plenty of chances and I had a point on my serve at 4-1 in the final set. I thought we were unlucky and played a lot of good points."

Captain Jeremy Bates has not given up hope of emerging victorious.

"We still have two winnable matches tomorrow - and so, yes, there are some positives," he said.

"The guys put themselves out there and gave it their best shot, but it is a tough ask now. People say the doubles are always pivotal, but we've still got a chance."
