Mauresmo reaches all-French final

Mauresmo is playing her first event since winning the Australian Open
Amelie Mauresmo and Mary Pierce delighted home fans by setting up an all-French final at the Paris Open.

Australian Open champion Mauresmo came through a tough match with compatriot Tatiana Golovin 6-7 (5-7) 7-5 6-2.

Pierce, seeded second, overcame Switzerland's Patty Schnyder 6-4 6-2 at the indoor event.

The 31-year-old was forced to fight back from 3-1 down in the first set before claiming it 6-4 then broke Schnyder twice to take the second set.

Mauresmo held a 5-0 lead in the opener before she squandered five set points and then dropped the tie-breaker.

Golovin broke the top seed in the second set but missed a match-point at 5-4 before seeing her opponent level.

Mauresmo then took the upperhand and wrapped up the decisive set and the match.
