Defending champion Roger Federer booked his place in the final of the Qatar Open with a straight sets victory over Germany's Tommy Haas on Friday. The Swiss top seed broke Haas in the seventh and ninth games to take the first set 6-3 in impressive style.
And the world number one continued to dominate in the second set, easing home 6-3 as he finished on an ace.
Federer now meets French seventh seed Gael Monfils in the final after his 6-3 6-4 win over Italy's Filippo Volandri.
"It was difficult to get winners because of the slow nature of the court, but I am happy to be in the final here again," Federer said.
"The crowd really got behind me, they really get emotionally involved when I am playing."
Unseeded Haas had progressed to the last four in Doha after beating Tim Henman in the second round and Russian Mikhail Youzhny in the quarter-finals.
But he was no match for the 24-year-old Federer who, after tougher earlier matches against Fabrice Santoro and Marcos Baghdatis, appeared to be in a hurry to reach his second successive final.
