Keothavong injured her knee in Lexington, Kentucky, last July |
British women's tennis got a boost on Sunday when Anne Keothavong capped her return from a serious injury with victory at the ITF event in Bolton. The British number two only returned to action two weeks ago after eight months out with a knee injury.
And after losing in the first round in Sunderland, Keothavong lived up to her top seeding in Bolton with a 3-6 6-1 6-1 win over Czech Veronika Chvojkova.
It is the seventh title of Keothavong's career at the ITF level.
A former world number 140, she began the week ranked 212, and was named in Great Britain's Fed Cup team to travel to Turkey next month.
