Russia's Dinara Safina beat fellow teenager Tatiana Golovin for the first time to book her place in the final of the Paris Indoor Open. Safina, 18, triumphed 6-1 4-6 7-6 over the 17-year-old Golovin and will face Amelie Mauresmo in Sunday's decider.
Mauresmo, the second seed and 2001 champion, beat fourth seed Nadia Petrova of Russia 7-5 6-3.
The 25-year-old French star, the beaten finalist here in 1999 and 2003, will be chasing her 16th career title.
Her opponent, the younger sister of Australian Open champion Marat, has two titles to her name but will be optimistic of a third after a fighting display on Saturday.
"I'm surprised - I don't know how I did it," said Safina, who was two points from defeat in the third set.
