Henman misses a simple forehand chance at 30-30, sending the ball long. The Croat needs no second chances, sealing the game to move two sets to love up.

Henman finally regains some composure on serve, and wins this game to love, but he has to break the Croat to save the second set.

Henman has a half-chance when Ancic hits a backhand long to take the game to deuce, but the Croat eventually holds to move within one game of taking the second set.

Serve is broken for the third successive game, much to the disappointment of the home fans. But this is a poor game from Henman, whose game is becoming alarmingly riddled with errors.

Ancic is unable to capitalise on his break, and a double fault hands Henman a break right back - the home fans are lifted.

First set

The Croat is simply too good in the tie-break, and two crucial points against Henman's serve give him an advantage which the British number one cannot claw back and Ancic wins the first set. An anxious murmur goes around Centre Court.

Henman moves 40-15 up, and looks well placed to take the match to a tie-break. But Ancic wins four points in a row with some brilliant passing shots to earn set point. Henman's fans are worried, but Henman digs deep to hold.

Henman 5-6 Ancic
Henman produces a sublime backhand winner at 15-40 down - but it is not enough to prevent Ancic holding again, and Henman must hold serve to force a tie-break.

Henman 5-5 Ancic
This is possibly Henman's best service game so far and he wins to love, firing in his second ace along the way.

Henman 4-5 Ancic
Henman is finding it difficult to make an impression when Ancic gets his serve right. The Croat finds his range in this game and holds comfortably.

Henman 4-4 Ancic
Henman survives a scary moment as Ancic produces a perfect lob to move 40-30 ahead. But Henman saves the break point and closes out the game with his first ace.

Henman 3-4 Ancic
Ancic looks in trouble as a delicious Henman lob puts the British number one 30-0 ahead. But he rediscovers his serve, and wins the next four points to hold again.

Henman 3-3 Ancic
Henman's form looks good, and he produces two excellent volleys followed by two big serves to win to love.

Henman 2-3 Ancic
Henman gets an opening as he moves 40-30 up to earn his first break point. The crowd sense that the Croat's booming serve could be faltering, although he brings out an ace and eventually holds.

Henman 2-2 Ancic
Another confident service game from Henman, the Croat winning just one point with a fine forehand pass.

Henman 1-2 Ancic
Ancic starts with a 130mph ace and the Croat wins his serve without losing a point.

Henman 1-1 Ancic
Henman goes 40-0 up without any alarms but is then passed as he comes to the net. The Briton is not deterred from coming in and on the next point Ancic sends his attempted pass into the tramlines.

Henman 0-1 Ancic
Ancic races into a 40-0 lead but then double faults to hand Henman his first point of the match. Ancic closes out the game as he comes to the net and puts away a comfortable volley.
