Maria Sharapova beat Australian eighth seed Alicia Molik in two sets to cruise into the semi-final of Birmingham's DFS Classic. The Russian third seed triumphed 6-3 6-1 and is the only seed now left in the grass-court event at Edgbaston.
She will play French 16-year-old Tatiana Golovin, who beat Anne Kremer of Luxembourg 6-4 7-5.
In other quarter-final action on Friday, France's Emilie Loit defeated Thailand's Tamarine Tanasugarn 6-2 6-4.
