Bates took part in 52 Davis Cup matches as a player
Great Britain captain Jeremy Bates is giving Davis Cup experience to two of the country's promising young players.

Andrew Banks, 21, and Andrew Murray, 16, have both travelled with the team to Luxembourg for this weekend's Euro-African zone tie.

Banks is enjoying easily his most successful year having risen 150 places in the new world rankings to 536.

He impressed Bates by coming through qualifying to win a futures event in Athens two weeks ago.

His seven match winning run included a straight sets win over Luxembourg number two Mike Scheidweiler and a quarter-final win over Jonny Marray who received his first Davis Cup selection for this tie.

Scotsman Murray, the fifth best junior in the world, has been struggling with a knee injury and has not played this year.

But, despite setbacks, he is recovering well and will gain valuable experience by hitting with Henman, Rusedski and the rest of the team.
