Clijsters has impressed all year

Kim Clijsters continued her fine start to the season with victory in the all-Belgian semi-final against Justine Henin-Hardenne.

Second seed Clijsters gave the 9,000-strong Antwerp crowd a bravura display, coming through 6-2 7-6.

She will now meet top seed Venus Williams in Sunday's final after the American defeated Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova 6-1 6-4.

Clijisters immediately stamped her authority on the match breaking Henin in the second game.

Henin was continually forced into long baseline rallies with her opponent and could not cope with Clijister's superior passing shots.

The second seed displayed the full range of her skills, bringing off lobs and smashes alike, to win the set 6-2.

Clijisters' momentum carried her on to an early break in the second and she found herself within touching distance of victory at 5-2.

But Henin, buoyed by the crowd's enthusiasm, clawed her way back into the game to force a tiebreak.

The comeback was shortlived, however, and Clijisters kept her cool to wrap up the match.

"The second set was very close," said Clijisters. "Justine started to make a lot fewer mistakes.

"I just wanted to finish it off but it was a nice match."

Qatar Total Finaelf Open

Elena Likhovtseva will meet fellow Russian Anastasia Myskina in the final of the Qatar Open after both won their semi-finals.

Likhovtseva was a 6-4 6-3 winner over another compatriot Lina Krasnoroustskaya, a wildcard who had earlier put out top seed Monica Seles.

The fifth seed quickly took advantage of a nervous Krasnoroustskaya and broke her twice to take the first set 6-4.

The 27-year-old was then on a roll and racked up four games on the trot to set her on the way to victory.

Myskina beat Austrian Patricia Wartusch 6-3 6-3 to set up the first all-Russian women's singles final for 31 years.

The first set was full of breaks with Myskina managing a crucial one to clinch the set in the ninth game.

And just one break in the second set was enough to secure victory for the 21-year-old.
