Doncaster's taekwondo Olympic bronze medallist Sarah Stevenson competes in Copenhagen this week, after changing her sport.

Stevenson won the bronze medal in Beijing, reinstated to the competition after judges missed a clear kick to her opponents head in the final seconds.

At this week's World Championships, players will have the chance to make the judges look again at the action.

Electronic body armour will also help improve scoring for the competitors in Denmark.

For Stevenson, it provides her a chance to recover from the disappointment of that bronze medal, but she feels that the sport has improved because of the changes.

"I didn't really realise what the fight has done for taekwondo. I'm amazed that something changed and it's changed for the better," she said.

"They weren't scoring my body shots and then right at the end I hit her in the face and a didn't get any points. Now we've got electronic body armour and replays."

The 26-year-old, who has a broken hand, is one of the 10-person squad competing in Copenhagen.

"After Beijing it was really tough for me but there's nothing else I want to do. I've not fought with a broken hand before, it's a new test for me," she said.

Stevenson is part of the GB team for the World Championships taking place in Copenhagen from 14-18 October.
