Frick had scored on his birthday to give Liechtenstein the lead

Liechtenstein coach Hans-Peter Zaugg praised his side but questioned why there was so much stoppage time in their 2-1 defeat by Scotland.

"First of all, I want to say I'm very proud of my team," he said after his side lost a last-minute goal.

"We are such a small nation, but we played a fantastic game.

"It showed five minutes added time, but then we played seven, which I thought was too long. I could take half a minute, but no more."

Mario Frick scored his 15th goal in 94 international appearances on his 36th birthday to give Liechtenstein the lead just after half-time.

But a Kenny Miller equaliser and Stephen McManus's header in the dying seconds prevented the Euro 2012 qualifying Group I minnows from recording a famous victory.

"But we weren't cheated - Scotland scored a good goal," added Zaugg.
