Murrayfield set for World Cup
Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium
Murrayfield is certain to host some 2007 RWC action
The 2007 Rugby World Cup is coming to Scotland, despite the race to host the tournament being between France and England.

Murrayfield, the home of Scottish rugby, has been included in both nation's bids.

Announcing their new proposals on Tuesday, England said they will make use of other major stadiums within Britain if it is successful.

The English will lease the new Wembley Stadium, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and Edinburgh's Murrayfield as part of its revised bid.

Twickenham officials were left with little option after host rival France offered Wales, Scotland and Ireland the chance to host matches involving their teams.

And the RFU has also agreed to scale down the extent of its proposed second tier competition that would run alongside the main event from 32 to 20 teams.
