Aberdeen manager Steve Paterson has completed his first signing, with Steve Tosh moving to Pittodrie from Falkirk.

And former Aberdeen player Neil Cooper has been named as the club's youth team coach. Cooper was manager of Forfar Athletic.

Tosh passed a medical on Wednesday morning and moves to Pittodrie for a fee of �30,000.

Tosh, who only moved to Brockville after being freed by Livingston in the summer, said he was delighted to be moving back into the Scottish Premier League.

"The Dons are a big club and I'm sure Steve Paterson has big ambitions for them," Tosh told Aberdeen's official website.

"I saw them play Celtic recently and already you can see the manager has made an impression at Pittodrie.

"I'm an honest, hard working player and will give everything I have for my new team."

Paterson was equally pleased at the completion of the move.

"Steven brings a lot of experience to my squad as well as no little skill," he told the club's website.

"He played really well for Livingston last season and showed he can handle playing at the top level in Scotland."

The news comes a day after Falkirk secured the services of defender Brian Reid and prepared to bid for Clyde midfielder Jack Ross.

Reid was released by Blackpool after falling out of favour with manager Steve McMahon despite captaining the English club to promotion from the Third Division last season.

Falkirk boss Ian McCall confirmed to BBC Sport Online that he is interested in the 26-year-old Clyde captain.

Ross, who has been at Broadwood since 1999, could be seen as a straight replacement for Tosh in the Falkirk midfield.
