The Dumfries club won promotion to the First Division at the end of last season and have signed the former Rangers and Scotland goalkeeper on a one-year contract. The 38-year-old signed on at Palmerston on Friday afternoon. Goram has made over 700 competitive appearances for Oldham Athletic, Hibs, Rangers, Motherwell and Manchester United among others. The Goalie will train with Queens twice a week and will continue his part-time coaching duties with Motherwell a further two days a week. Manager John Connolly says Goram's experience and ability could be vital in helping the First Division new boys avoid the drop. He said: "This is tremendous for us. We have moved up a division and it will be murder just trying to stay there. "We need a bit of experience and I am delighted to have Andy on board." | See also: 17 Jul 02 | Scotland Top Scotland stories now: Links to more Scotland stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
