Riley provides cover for injured new signing Matthew Watkins

Newport RFC centres Tom Riley and Adam Hughes will begin the new season with the Dragons, with Matthew Watkins and Rhodri Gomer Davies injured.

New signing Watkins will miss the start of the season after a hip operation, while fellow three-quarter Davies is recovering from surgery on his ankle.

Dragons centre Rory Sidey joined New South Wales Waratahs this summer.

Pontypridd product Riley, 24, starred for Newport last season, while Newport-born Hughes, 19, is an academy product.
