Wales Sevens endured a tough opening day at Twickenham |
Wales Sevens lost 12-7 to Kenya in the final of the third-tier Bowl competition at Twickenham in the penultimate IRB World Series event. Wales had beaten Georgia 36-0 in the quarters, before coming from behind to beat Argentina 19-14 in the semis. On a tough Saturday, Wales had lost 29-5 to South Africa and 31-21 to Australia before beating Germany 45-5. The final event of a memorable Sevens season for coach Paul John's Wales is at Murrayfield next weekend. Wales were the shock winners of the World Cup in Dubai in March, and had six players from that triumph in their squad in London - captain Lee Beach, James Merriman, Craig Hill, Aled Thomas, Tal Selley and Tom Isaacs. | 606: DEBATE |
