Injured Bennett could miss tour

Huw Bennett could be a doubt for Wales' tour of South Africa after an injury in Shane Williams's testimonial game.

The Ospreys hooker has gone for an X-ray on his ankle ligaments but the result will not be known until Monday.

Scarlets and Wales full-back Morgan Stoddart also limped off, but his injury is not thought to be serious.

Williams's team, a shadow Welsh side, beat a Justin Marshall invitational XV 65-57 in a carnival atmosphere at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

606: DEBATE

Marshall's side was coached by Mike Ruddock, while Wales coach Warren Gatland took control of Williams's XV.

Williams was said to be the selector, but the line-up had the look of a team warming up for the two-Test June tour of world champions South Africa, with James Hook preferred to Stephen Jones at fly-half in the starting line-up.

There was one change in the pack to the line-up that started the Grand Slam-clincher against France in March, with Scarlets flanker Dafydd Jones getting a chance to impress in the number seven jersey in Martyn Williams' absence.

Behind the scrum, injuries created chances for Newport-Gwent Dragon Andy Williams at scrum-half, centre Sonny Parker, Cardiff Blues wing Tom James and Stoddart.

Marshall's XV included fellow Osprey All Blacks Filo Tiatia and Marty Holah, plus the Dragons' Blues-bound fly-half Ceri Sweeney.
