Roberts says he is learning plenty from Shane Williams |
Wing Jamie Roberts was thrilled by his first Wales cap, an impressive showing in Saturday's 30-15 win over Scotland. "It couldn't have been bigger than a packed Millennium Stadium in the Six Nations," said the Blues back, 21.
"This was in at the deep end, not some summer tour game. I was nervous seeing the crowds coming to the stadium, then had some tears in the national anthem.
"I got a good early touch then it's all a blur, I don't remember a thing. I hope it's onwards and upwards now."

The imposing 6ft 4ins medical student cuts quite a contrast to Wales's other wing, 5ft 8ins two-try hero Shane Williams.
"Shane was unbelievable, a touch of class," said Roberts, whose long-term future is expected to be at full-back.
"I'm learning from people like him - there's a great mix of youth and experience in the squad - and hopefully one day I can turn in those sort of match-winning performances.
"The pace of the game was quite something after regional rugby, but I won't let my feet get off the ground and I hope there are plenty more caps to come."

Roberts's cautious talk on the possibility of keeping his place seems more than just regular sport-speak, with coach Warren Gatland having shown his ruthless streak with substitutions and making clear his intention to again change a winning side.
"Warren's keeping us all on our toes, it's the environment that Wales needs," said Roberts.
When Gatland names his team to face Italy in Cardiff on 23 February, half-backs Dwayne Peel and Stephen Jones could replace Mike Phillips and James Hook, having impressed as replacements against Scotland.
"I was just delighted to get back on the pitch and try and express myself," said Jones.
"This is by far the most competitive Welsh squad I can remember. It is really healthy but as a player you want to play.
"The standard of training is intense and it is good.
"We have two wins, but as players we will not get carried away. We need to up our game.
"I am sure there will be quite a few areas the coaches won't be happy about and they won't hold back. They want us to develop as a team and as individuals."
