Wales Sevens lining up Australia
Welsh rugby
Wales Sevens face Australia in the quarter-final of the bottom-tier Bowl competition on Sunday in San Diego.

A disappointing pool stage saw coach Gareth Baber's side lose 19-0 to New Zealand, beat Scotland 14-12, then lose 26-7 to France.

Wales had hoped to improve on last week's runners-up spot in the Plate final of the IRB Sevens series in Wellington, New Zealand.

Wales are ranked in 11th place overall after three legs of the 2008 series.
