Wales women bounced back from last week's 55-0 loss to England with a 23-6 win over Scotland at Taffs Well RFC.

Wing Louise Rickard starred for an unchanged side, scoring two tries to celebrate her 97th cap.

Experienced full-back Non Evans kicked 13 points as Wales maintained the whip hand over the visitors, having beaten them 10-0 in Dunbar last year.

Scotland's points came from the boot of Sarah Gill who kicked penalties either side of half-time.

606: DEBATE

"We produced a much improved performance on last week's outing, particularly in the first half," said Wales coach Jason Lewis.

"This win and performance has put our campaign back on course which was important after the disappointing result last week.

"We have Italy next - at home - and if we win that game we will travel away to Ireland with everything to play for."

The Italy game will be held at Taffs Well on Sunday, 24 February (1300 GMT).
