 Wales and Australia will have a new trophy to contest |
Wales and Australia will celebrate the 100th year of Test rugby between the two countries with the establishment of the James Bevan Trophy. It is named after the Australian-born Welsh-raised man who was the first ever captain of the Wales rugby team.
The prize will be up for grabs for the first time in the forthcoming series in Australia, with the first Test on 26 May and the second on 2 June.
The Trophy has been commissioned by International Business Wales.
The IBW is the economic arm of the Welsh assembly government.

Bevan was born in was born in 1858 in St Kilda, Victoria, the son of a Monmouthshire man.
He lived with relatives in Wales following the death of his parents when he was seven, completing his education at Cambridge where he won Blues in rugby.
Bevan captained the first Wales XV that took the field against England at Blackheath on 19 February 1881.
