Former members of Bridgend RFC could be sued for over 200,000 as part of the ongoing dispute between the Welsh Rugby Union and Leighton Samuel. Ex-Celtic Warriors owner Samuel is suing the WRU over the manner in which the regional team was acquired and wound up by the Union last year.
The WRU have written to former Bridgend chairman Derrick King.
The letter says that if the Union lose the case they would then look to reclaim money owed by the club.
That could leave all club members from 1997 liable for the debts, a move that could affect over 200 people.
The Union have refused to confirm or deny the contents of the letter.
