Full-back Kevin Morgan, second row Luke Charteris and flankers Jamie Ringer and Jason Forster have signed new contracts at Newport Gwent Dragons. The news will boost the region, who will lose the financial backing of Tony Brown at the end of the season and see Percy Montgomery return to S Africa.
Wales lock Charteris, 22, had been a target for the Neath-Swansea Ospreys.
"The Dragons are heading in the right direction and I want to be part of a team challenging for honours," he said.
Captain Forster, 34, has previously admitted that he is coming towards the end of his career, but he sees a golden few years ahead.
"We want to win something," he proclaimed. "The players have gelled fantastically well and we want to fulfil our potential and clinch some silverware."

Wales back Morgan joined the Dragons at the start of the season when no-one else was prepared to take a gamble on the injury-prone ex-Celtic Warrior. He has been rejuvenated this season, though, becoming the Gwent side's leading try scorer, regaining his Wales place in the Grand Slam side, and being unfortunate to miss a Lions spot.
"I am enjoying my rugby at the moment and am delighted to sign a new contract," said the 28-year-old.
Ringer, 29, came to Rodney Parade two years ago, but is presently banned for a head butt in the game with Connacht.
"It was an easy decision to pledge my future with the Dragons," he said.
