Jonah Lomu's much anticipated debut for Cardiff Blues has been pencilled in for their Heineken Cup visit to Italian side Calvisano on 10 December. The Ex-All Black wing had hoped to play in Saturday's match with London Irish.
"Jonah has been working hard on his fitness and we will be picking up the contact levels with him this week," said Blues coach Dai Young.
"He might be ready for next week. If he doesn't make the first Calvisano game, he'll definitely make the second one."
Lomu, who is attempting to resurrect his professional career after serious kidney problems, has joined the Blues until the end of the season.
After his spell in Wales, he plans to return to New Zealand to secure an NPC and Super 14 contract and ultimately regain his All Black jersey.
The 30-year-old has scored 37 tries in 66 Tests for the all-conquering All Blacks.
Wales and Lions prop Gethin Jenkins is rated 50-50 to make his first appearance of the season after having shoulder surgery.
