Edinburgh are flying high on top of the Celtic League after a five-try demolition of Connacht at Murrayfield. The Gunners were slow off the mark in leading only 10-3 at the break with Connacht fly-half Paul Warwick getting his side's only points from a penalty.
But Frank Hadden's side took off after the break to build on an earlier Simon Webster touchdown and a penalty try.
Tries came through Ally Hogg, debutant Rob Dewey and skipper Chris Paterson who also kicked nine points.
Edinburgh made all the running in the opening 15 minutes but could not turn pressure into quick points.
A combination of carelessness and robust defence by the visitors kept the scoresheet blank until skipper Chris Paterson steadied the nerves with a long-range penalty after 15 minutes.
Then, in the wake of two excellent runs by rookie centre Dewey, Paterson watched in dismay as another simple penalty crashed back off the left-hand post. The strike acted as a calming influence and the Gunners created a slick try started and finished by winger Webster in the 22nd minute.
Warwick clawed back three points for Connacht with a well-judged penalty referee Neil Ballard yellow-carded Hogg and Connacht lock Christian Short in quick succession.
The Gunners were handed a penalty try when Leonelli's kick left the Connacht defence in tatters and, when Paterson raced upfield in pursuit, he was held back.
Edinburgh ended the challenge of the province with a lethal burst of three tries in seven minutes.
Firstly, Hogg was set free to plough over in the corner before Dewey ended a thrilling move featuring Paterson who finally finished of the Irishmen with a fifth try.
