Scarlets sign New Zealand forward
Scarlets director of rugby Gareth Jenkins
The Llanelli Scarlets have continued their recruitment drive by signing Waikato Chiefs second row David Duley.

The 25-year-old from Matamata qualifies as a Welsh national thanks to a grandfather who hails from Wrexham.

Duley, who has joined on a two-and-a-half year contract, is expected to arrive at Stradey Park in a fortnight.

His recruitment follows the Scarlets' signing of former All Black prop Dave Hewett, as the Llanelli side begin the rebuilding of their ageing squad.

Scarlets chief executive Stuart Gallacher said: "We are happy to welcome Dave to Stradey Park as he will bolster our pack as we work to turn around our season.

"He has great experience, having played in the Super 12 for Waikato and is immensely versatile. We are expecting him to arrive on 16 December."

Duley has also represented Australian School Boys and Colts, and has enjoyed stints with Bay of Plenty, Queensland and Coventry.
