The Scarlets have signed Canadian prop Jon Thiel for the rest of the season. His recruitment covers the vacancy left by the departure of Martyn Madden, which left John Davies as the only experienced tighthead in the squad.
Thiel, 28, will join the Scarlets next week after playing in the World Cup where he took his total of caps to 36.
He was with Welsh Premiership winners Bridgend last season but failed to win a place in the Celtic Warriors regional squad.
