Millard scored two tries for Scotland at Surrey Sports Park |
Scotland's women remained on course to reach their target of a fifth to eighth place finish at the Rugby World Cup with a convincing win over Sweden. Tries from Lindsay Wheeler, Lucy Millard, Donna Kennedy, Katy Green and another from Millard ensured that the Scots secured a vital bonus point. Scotland captain Lynne Reid said: "In that game, we came out firing. "It was a tough match - the legs are feeling it now - but it's time to regroup and prepare for our next game." The Scots, who had lost to Canada and France in their first two matches, were 32-0 ahead - Nicola Halfpenny kicking two conversions and a penalty - before Johanna Norberg's late reply at Surrey Sports Park. Reid was thankful for a quick start compared to their first two matches. "It made a difference, but we continued to play our style of rugby - what really made the difference was the execution of final skills," she told the Scottish Rugby Union website. France are top of Pool C after beating Canada 23-8.
