The Scots could not recover from going into the break 17 points behind |
Scotland suffered their second successive defeat at the Women's Rugby World Cup in Guildford after a 17-7 loss to France. The Scots trailed 17-0 at half-time as tries from Elodie Poublan, Marie Charlotte Hebel and Sandrine Agricole put the French in control. Lucy Millard's try sparked brief hopes of a Scots fightback but the French held on for victory. The Scots, bottom of Pool C, face Sweden on Saturday in their final game. Canada, with 10 points, maintained their lead at the top of Pool C with a 40-10 victory over Sweden. Scotland, who lost their opening game against Canada, will be aiming to record their first win of the campaign against the Swedes.
