Murray will spend the summer recovering from an ankle problem
Scotland prop Euan Murray has withdrawn from Andy Robinson's squad for the tour of Argentina with an ankle problem. His place in the pool will be taken by Edinburgh's Geoff Cross, who was a firm favourite of Robinson's during his spell as Edinburgh manager. Murray, who gained his 32nd cap for Scotland in the Six Nations win over Ireland in March, will rest over the summer and resume next season. Scotland face the Pumas on Saturday 12 and 19 June. Scotland team doctor James Robson said: "Following consultation between our medical team and the medics at Euan's club, Northampton, the decision has been taken in the interests of the player for Euan to undergo a period of rest, treatment and rehabilitation for differing injuries affecting both ankles." The promotion of Cross, who won his second cap in the Calcutta Cup match in March, means a change is required in the Scotland A squad for the IRB Nations Cup in Bucharest. Bruce Douglas, who won the last of his 43 full Scotland caps four years ago, will return to A team duty. Douglas, who plays for Montpellier in France, is due to join Worcester Warriors for next season. One other change to the A squad involves Glasgow Warriors prop Jon Welsh being replaced by club-mate Ed Kalman due to a leg injury.
