Ally Hogg faces up to 12 weeks on the sidelines |
Scotland flanker Alistair Hogg is facing up to 12 weeks on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury. The Edinburgh Gunners forward was examined on Tuesday afternoon and was told he had suffered medial ligament damage to his right knee.
Hogg has been ruled out of Scotland's autumn internationals and national coach Frank Hadden said it was a blow.
Hogg was hurt early in Friday's defeat by Cardiff, his comeback game after a month out with an elbow problem.
The flanker will miss Scotland's games against Romania, the Pacific Islanders and Australia.
Hadden said Hogg's injury was "a fantastic opportunity" for another young player to show what he was capable of.
