Prop Colin Noon has jetted off to join the Scotland party |
Full-back Robbie Kydd and prop Euan Murray have both been ruled out of Scotland's tour to Australia. Saracens ace Kydd fractured a cheekbone just 20 minutes into his Scottish debut against Queensland Reds when he collided into winger Scott Barton.
Meanwhile, Glasgow's Murray has failed to shake off a thigh injury.
Scotland coach Matt Williams is not naming a replacement for Kydd yet, but has called up Rotherham tighthead prop Colin Noon as cover for Murray.
Noon, 38, will arrive into the Gold Coast on Monday with Scotland's new assistant coach Willie Anderson.
With Todd Blackadder still on board, the former Ireland captain joins the tour primarily in an observatory capacity, though Williams has encouraged his input at training.
There remains plenty of work to do on the training field after an inexperienced Scotland side were shredded 41-5 by Queensland in Saturday's warm-up.
The tourists have a quick turnaround, with a second workout against NSW Country on Wednesday before the first Test of the trip, against Samoa in Wellington, two days later.
