French skipper Fabien Galthie paid tribute to his players after they demolished Fiji 61-18 in their opening World Cup match in Brisbane. Galthie admitted he was particularly pleased with the performance of his back-line, which was built around an impressive centre pairing of Tony Marsh and Yannick Jauzion - who grabbed a hat-trick.
"It was a very important match for us because we didn't know where we were exactly in the World Cup," said Galthie.
"We tried to keep the pressure on and keep control of the match.
"It was a very good performance, we had some good moves and good momentum.
"Fiji started the game well but it was a beautiful match for the backs."
