Rauluni had initially declined to play in the World Cup

Rauluni was initially named in the Pacific Islanders' World Cup squad but pulled out to concentrate on his career at English club side Rotherham.

But on Saturday, the Fijians announced Rauluni would step up for the side in place of Sami Rabaka, who broke his hand in the 41-13 win over Japan.

Rabaka is only the latest injury setback as they prepare to face Scotland.

Fiji suffer double blow

Fly-half Waisale Serevi pulled out with a broken collarbone, while number eight Alifereti Mocelutu will also play no further part in the tournament because of a fractured right forearm.

Isikeli Nacewa and Mesake Davu take their places in the squad as back-up.

A spokesman for the Fijian team said he expected the trio to be with the squad by Tuesday.

He said: "Jacob was our first choice scrum-half till six weeks ago when he felt compelled to announce his international retirement.

"We are delighted he has revised his decision and opted to come out of that enforced retirement."

Fiji take on Scotland in Sydney on Saturday 1 November and must win to have any chance of reaching the quarter-finals.
