Sanderson praises young Warriors

Worcester captain Pat Sanderson praised his team after their defeat at Northampton in their opening game of the Premiership season.

Warriors led until two minutes from time before a late Saints try while fly-half Willie Walker was sin-binned.

Sanderson said that was a pivotal moment: "Sometimes those decisions are hard to make for refs.

"But we are going to look at that game and not be disappointed with anything other than the result.

And Sanderson says considering they had a very young centre pairing, with 21-year-old Greg King making just his second Premiership start, it was a heartening display:

"He will be over the moon, and so he should be, he stood toe-to-toe with a very good set of centres.

"It's vital with injuries that we have these lads who can come in.

"We look at ourselves a very different team this year, we kind of said it before the season started.

"It is a watershed for us this year, but you only have to look at our display, the energy and the effort.

"We have made a big step forward and back it up and be consistent."
