England Under-20 international Graham Kitchener has signed a new two-year-deal with Worcester Warriors.

The 19-year-old lock was on an academy contract but he has been rewarded with a senior deal that will keep him at Sixways until 2011.

"He's made significant gains in both his strength and overall conditioning," director of rugby Mike Ruddock told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

Kitchener has made 13 appearances for the Warriors this season.

He has featured in the Guinness Premiership, the European Challenge Cup and the EDF Energy Cup.

Ruddock thinks the teenager, who has been named in the England Under-20 squad for this summer's World Cup, will continue to progress.

"I believe he has the capabilities to go on and play for England at senior level and that's why I'm delighted he has decided to stay on," he said.

Kitchener scored tries against Petrarca Rugby and London Irish and admits he has improved a lot during his time at Sixways.

"My game has improved from working with the coaching staff here and by being surrounded by professional players with a vast amount of experience whose knowledge has been invaluable," he said.
